About the Role

The successful candidate will teach English to Grade 4 and Grade 5 learners, while also contributing to other enrichment subjects. The role requires an educator who can create engaging learning experiences that develop learners’ English language skills, confidence and communication abilities. The successful candidate will support learners with their academic development while maintaining a positive, structured and supportive classroom environment. The teacher will also contribute to wider school activities and enrichment programmes.

  • Global Perspectives, where applicable

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English to Grade 4 and Grade 5 learners.
  • Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons.
  • Support learners’ development of English language and communication skills.
  • Assess and monitor learner progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and individual academic support where required.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain a positive, structured and academically focused classroom.
  • Contribute to enrichment activities and wider school programmes.
  • Participate in school events and professional-development initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Education; or
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a PGCE or recognised teaching qualification.
  • Relevant teaching experience.
  • Appropriate curriculum experience.
  • SACE registration.
  • Legal right to work in South Africa.
  • Availability for full-time, on-site teaching.
  • Valid police clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant pre-employment screening, including drug testing where applicable.
