About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Geography to Grades 8 and 9, as well as Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level Geography. The role will also include teaching Business Studies to Grade 9 learners. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that support students’ understanding of geographical concepts and business principles while maintaining a positive, disciplined and academically focused classroom environment. The teacher will also contribute to student development, assessment, departmental collaboration and wider school activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Geography to Grades 8 and 9.
  • Teach Geography at Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level.
  • Teach Business Studies to Grade 9.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons appropriate to each teaching level.
  • Assess and monitor student progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and academic support.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain a positive, disciplined and academically focused classroom.
  • Contribute to curriculum and departmental activities.
  • Participate in school events and professional-development initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Education; or
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a PGCE or recognised teaching qualification.
  • Relevant teaching experience.
  • Experience with the Cambridge International curriculum.
  • SACE registration.
  • Legal right to work in South Africa.
  • Availability for full-time, on-site teaching.
  • Valid police clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant pre-employment screening, including drug testing where applicable.
