About the Role

Alma Mater International School is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Computer Science and/or Pure Mathematics Teacher to join our High School team in Krugersdorp. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons aligned with the Cambridge International curriculum. The role requires a teacher who can promote strong academic outcomes while developing students’ problem-solving, analytical and critical-thinking skills. The successful candidate will contribute to a positive, disciplined and academically focused classroom environment while supporting students in achieving their full academic potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Computer Science and/or Pure Mathematics at Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Level.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, academically rigorous lessons.
  • Prepare students effectively for Cambridge examinations.
  • Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain a positive, disciplined and academically focused classroom.
  • Provide individual academic support where required.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental collaboration.
  • Participate in school events and professional-development initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Education; or
  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a PGCE or recognised teaching qualification.
  • A minimum of three years’ relevant teaching experience.
  • Cambridge International curriculum experience.
  • SACE registration.
  • Legal right to work in South Africa.
  • Availability for full-time, on-site teaching in Krugersdorp.
  • Valid police clearance or willingness to obtain one.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant pre-employment screening, including drug testing where applicable.
